About Peer nutrition
Having qualified in Human Nutrition from Massey University, I feared opening my own private practice as I didn't feel I was the "right shape" to be providing nutritional advice to others. As I have gotten older, I've realised a "real" sized nutritionist with lived experience in inflammation and hormone related weight gain is just what people are after. Working from a peer model, where I use my own lived experience of living with an over-reactive inflammation response and subsequent weight gain, helps me provide authentic, empathetic support for my clients.
In my practice, I use my qualification and lived experience to help those experiencing difficulties with disorders and differences. Areas of interest include, but are not limited to; Lipodemia, Ehlers Danos, Neurodiversity and sensory related challenges. I look forward to supporting you to meet your wellbeing goals, using individualised and personalised suppport in a non-judgemental and understanding manner.
Our unique selling point
At Peer Nutrition, I offer an educated, researched and targeted nutritional guidance for inflammation and hormone related weight management to support a healthy lifestyle.
Using a peer model, you will be working with someone who has experienced the additional difficulties associated with having a hormone imbalance and connective tissue disorder (Ehlers Danos). This point of difference allows me to understood the associated difficulties you're facing. Additionally, an understanding of how generic weight loss models are not always appropriate or helpful for all bodies.
